PORTFOLIO

There is not one narrative to the work I've left behind in this world.

Except maybe for this, I never stop learning.

Life is short, never let a good lesson pass you by.

Tile and Masonry

Starting out as a mason i learned a lot about structural integrity, reading plans, laying out rough ground for leveling and form work and finish work was always built into our designs.

Tile was a natural fit because its the same principles with a higher level of precision.

This shower was framed to fit the tile. The seat and korbel were custom cut. The floor was laid out so that the hidden drain was perfectly placed. And evbenm with 1/16" joints the Niche lines up perfectly on the horizontal joints. Also, i laid out the tiles before setting and built a sunburst effect by separating the lighter and darker natural marble colors.

Carpentry

I still have trouble thinking odf myself as a carpenter. But my tool kit woulkd say otherwise. I may not be a cabinet maker, or a fine woodworker, but i can work with engineered lumber to build all sorts of useful things. This platform is where masomnry and woodwork meet. Its the subfloor to a shed, spanning two dissimilar surfaces. Thje point here is how flat and square it turned out. So that everything we built on top of it was that much easier to square up.

Other Projects

Seeing as how this is a masonry building it made sense that i would be the one to renovate it. Repointing spalled brick mortar, patching holes, removing old hardware, scraping 30 years of loose paint. And my favorite part of theis project was the stucco to build up the surface of the old windows to be flush with the rest of the face of the building. I also enjoy getting better and better at repairing rotted wood with Total Boat Epoxy products where replacing them would ber too much.
